Our expertise

Restoration services

Sash window repairs

Experienced artisan carpentry skills for repairs of Rotten or decaying sash windows, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic appeal. We Use only the finest timber for the restoration of existing sash windows & doors. All the works are photo documented to ensure our clients see everything onsite  & offsite what exactly is involved throughout  the process of rebuilding & restoration works.

Sash window replacement

Custom-built sash windows to replace irreparable units, matching the original design and style. We mostly  use African sapele Hardwood  although choices are generally mahogany and oak due to their excellent durability, stability, and natural resistance to rot and moisture. An alternative is Accoya, a modified softwood with exceptional performance that surpasses many hardwoods.

Draught proofing systems

Installation of discreet draught proofing systems to improve energy efficiency and comfort. Using mostly a brush and carrier system that are machine routed into the sashes and parts of the window to ensure an air sealed window. We also install  magnetic Secondary glazing to further enhance the window to gain more comfort and making  your home much more energy efficient.

Supplier & Installation of FINEO 8. We arrange Distribution and Collection including the full deglazing and re-glazing of your existing windows. This new advanced glazing  for the heritage industry (FINEO 8) achieves similar thermal performance to triple glazing while being 3 to 4 times thinner. Its thinness makes it an elegant solution for all our restoration refurbishment projects. It integrates perfectly into most existing sash frames, so it is often the most cost-effective solution for restoration and renovation projects that require the best advantages of thermal performance to your home / property.

I can't rate Jason highly enough. His dedication to his craft is exceptional, he puts his heart and soul into his work and his attention to detail is superb. Throughout the restoration he gave regular and detailed updates of his work. He was restoring in a workplace and was constantly considerate of minimising any disruption to business and maintaining a clean workplace.

Hi Jason, I just want to say that you and your Dad are wizards. We have been trying for a couple of years to find people who could restore our wooden windows exactly as you have done. You have restored our faith in Irish craftmanship. If anyone from this side of Dublin wants proof of what you can do please feel free to suggest he, she or they come here and we will show the finished articles.

Best wishes and thanks again.

I have no hesitation in stating that Jason Milea is a master craftsman. Jason carried out both complex and extensive restoration work on both windows and doors in my house which is a period property. His knowledge and skills are truly extraordinary. He is meticulous in his attention to detail and the outcome is always perfect . Jason's love of architectural history consistently translates into his respectful handling of the materials with which he works in these properties. He is also extremely clean and always so thoughtful. As a character he is totally trustworthy . Jason works to the highest standard and no challenge is beyond his capabilities. Deirdre Boland

It was a very happy day that we discovered Jason Millea. He is a craftsman of the highest quality and a person of absolute integrity. It is all too obvious that Jason loves his work and this is reflected in its artistic quality. He has done extensive works for us on our parish buildings in Celbridge, restoring and reconstructing sash windows in our period buildings as well as other repairs and renovations. We have also had him fit his magnetic secondary double glazing on some of our windows and are very pleased with the results. His rates are always fair and if anything exceptionally reasonable taking into account the quality he delivers. In this field of craftsmanship we would look no further than Jason Millea and would recommend him to anyone who wishes to restore a period building while maintaining its integrity.
Rev’d Stephen Neill
Rector of Christ Church, Celbridge.

Jason undertook a project to carry out the work of repairing our timber sash windows and upgrading them to double glazed standard. He took a strong conservation approach to the work, repairing the sashes and maximising the reuse of existing timbers in our Edwardian house.

His knowledge of timber and the mechanics of sash windows is deep and thorough. He used only the best and most suitable materials, especially timber, on the repairs to the windows. He is proud of his work and is delighted to keep his customer totally informed of what is being undertaken.

He started and finished the work on time and as planned. There were no extra costs and all the work was done as agreed. When the job was finished a minor problem arose as two of the weights lifting one of the sashes fouled each other. Jason came immediately and rectified matters.  Jason is neat and tidy in his work, which was important to us as work was in four different rooms. He took the sashes away to work on them in his workshop and only repaired the built-in frames in situ. This helped to minimise the amount of dust. He cleaned up at the end of each day and did a very thorough clean up at the end of the project. We would be happy to recommend him for any work to timber sash windows.
